The 25th International Summer School will focus on exciting recent progress in Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience and will include lectures on major neurodegenerative disorders of the brain and the visual system, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, macula degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, spinal cord trauma, and multiple sclerosis. The Summer School aims at providing a forum for discussing recent developments in stem cell therapy, gene therapy and pharmacotherapy as well as the application of neuroprotheses and “deep brain” stimulation. The target groups are PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and senior researchers, both in basic and clinical science.

The first formal meeting of the Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology (FESN) is to be organised by the British Neuropsychological Society (BNS). The meeting will be held in the Assembly Rooms in the city of Edinburgh. The local organising committee consists of the Human Cognitive Neuroscience Group from the Department of Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, together with two members of the BNS Executive Committee. The aim of the meeting is to further understanding of brain-behaviour relationships and neuropsychological disorders and will cover some important themes currently debated in Neuropsychology. Keynote lectures will be delivered by ProfessorGiacomo Rizzolatti, Professor David Milner and Professor Tim Shallice.
