First Conference of the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society

The Hispanic Neuropsychological Society is very pleased to announce its first conference! This will be a one-day event on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Hotel, Acapulco, Mexico, immediately preceding and in cooperation with the INS annual conference.
Registration is now open on the HNS website at www.hnps.org. The conference will be in English. The target audience is neuropsychologists who would like to improve their work with Hispanics and their understanding of language and culture in working with various Hispanic populations.

The 38th Annual Meeting will feature a dynamic program designed to present the latest advances in Neuropsychology and its related fields. INS has invited speakers from around the world and representing a varied range of interests. Highlights of the meeting include:

In addition, an extensive continuing education program will be offered. INS is approved by both the American Psychological Association and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to offer Continuing Education Activities. The Continuing Education program will be published as soon as it is finalized.

Meeting registration and hotel booking are expected to open in late September or early October 2009.

Abstract submission will be accepted beginning on May 18, 2009 and the deadline for submission is September 7, 2009. Abstracts will be accepted online only. Please see the Call for Abstracts on the INS web site for details.

All abstracts accepted for the Congress will be published in a supplemental issue of the journal Brain Injury. Submissions must be data-driven or assessment/treatment model descriptions. Abstracts are now being accepted. The deadline for submitting a paper for the Congress is October 12, 2009.

This is the first time in our history that a World Congress has been held in the USA. The meeting is expected to be the largest IBIA meeting in our history and in many ways the most exciting. We hope that you will join us for this unprecedented event.

Training program in European laboratories for young investigators from countries with limited resources
The Organizing Committee of the 8th IBRO World Congress of Neuroscience launches a Training Program for selected young investigators from countries with limited resources. The Program will arrange, on the occasion of the 8th IBRO World Congressof Neuroscience, one-month stays in European laboratories, which will allow guest young investigators to meet senior and junior scientists and get familiar with the laboratory’s environment, facilities and techniques in different fields of brain research, to favour future exchanges and networking. Lodging expenses and travel fare to or from Florence ( before or after the IBRO Congress) will be covered by the Young Investigator Visiting Program.
